AAA predicts record year for Thanksgiving travel

AAA: Thanksgiving travel expected to be the busiest since 2005

This Thanksgiving is expected to see the highest number of travelers since 2005, according to AAA.

The agency said 54.3 million people will travel for the 2018 holiday. That’s 5% more than last year according to AAA.

Of the those travelers, 4.2 million people are expected to fly, while more than 48 million people are planning a road trip.

The agency is also offering travelers the best dates to fly during the Thanksgiving holiday. According to AAA, November 19, 20, 21 and 22 are the best times to travel by flight. Ticket prices on those dates range on average from $446 to $509.

AAA said you can expect to see most number of drivers on the road the Sunday after Thanksgiving, which is November 25.
