No longer many houses seem like Yvette Mimieux’s. No longer in Southern California. No longer any place.
The colourful Bel-Air compound — a bohemian bouquet of artwork and structure — surfaced on the market at $49.5 million after Mimieux, superstar of the 1960 movie “The Time System,” died at 80 in January.
Information display it has a notable new proprietor: Tinder co-founder Sean Rad, who paid $35 million for the fanciful property.
Rad, an L.A. local who based the relationship app in 2012, ultimate made housing headlines when he purchased a Hollywood Hills mansion from actual property powerhouse Kurt Rappaport in 2018 for $24 million. His new position is even larger, combining two houses and two quite a bit for a complete of one.5 acres and more or less 15,000 sq. toes.

The compound is tucked on an “island” of types in Bel-Air, the place the Bel-Air Nation Membership golfing path wraps round a coveted choice of luxurious houses, developing a personal haven protected from town. It’s been dubbed “Il Sogno” — Italian for “the dream.”
Each properties shirk trendy genre in want of extravagant, over-the-top Outdated Hollywood genre.
The bigger of the 2 is a Tuscan-style villa with hand-painted ceilings, skylights, vintage plaster partitions, stone-carved fireplaces and crystal chandeliers. Highlights come with a sky-lit library, customized brick wine cellar and a fairytale-style number one suite below a dome.
The smaller house is a Balinese-style cottage loaded with daring colours, leafy lounges and indoor-outdoor areas. A wraparound terrace overlooks the grounds, replete with gardens, statues, a cabana, lanai and a couple of swimming swimming pools.
Linda Might of Hilton & Hyland, Rappaport of Westside Property Company and Jade Generators of Coldwell Banker Realty held the checklist. Mary Fitzgerald and Jason Oppenheim of the Oppenheim Crew, who superstar in Netflix’s “Promoting Sundown,” represented Rad.
Mimieux, an L.A. local, won repute for her roles in “The Time System,” “The place the Boys Are” and “Gentle within the Piazza.” She owned the house for many years together with her husband, actual property mogul Howard Ruby.
