ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Income (FBR)’s Anti-Benami Initiative (ABI) has confiscated a luxurious car within the federal capital within the first-of-its-kind operation, The News reported on Saturday.
In response to an FBR assertion, the whereabouts of the car have been traced to a home in Islamabad, which was subsequently searched, and on June 2, 2021, the car was confiscated with the assistance of native law-enforcement companies (LEAs) underneath the Benami Transactions Prohibition Act 2017.
The preliminary clue to this car’s Benami possession was traced from the Excise Workplace, Islamabad Capital Territory.
The preliminary inquiry revealed that the suspected Benami proprietor was not enrolled with the bureau and he disowned the car and disclosed that he was only a driver whose CNIC was utilized by the helpful proprietor of the car.
After completion of the investigation, a reference was filed to the Adjudicating Authority, which was determined in favour of the ABI.
In accordance with the instructions of the prime minister, the momentum in opposition to Benami property accelerated in June 2019 with the inception of Anti-Benami Zones throughout Pakistan.
