The S&P BSE Sensex hovered round 52,180 ranges, down 40 factors, and the Nifty50 index was across the 15,700-mark. ONGC gained 2 per cent, and was the highest Sensex gainer, adopted by Larsen & Toubro and Mahindra & Mahindra (each up 1%).
The Nifty sectoral indices have been combined, with Nifty Financial institution index, down 0.37 per cent, bleeding probably the most.
In the meantime, the broader markets outperformed their benchmark friends, with the S&P BSE MidCap and SmallCap indices buying and selling 0.33 per cent and 0.6 per cent greater, respectively.
