Phil Mickelson, who turns 51 in June, is now the oldest winner in major history. Previous to Sunday, not a single participant gained a serious championship of their 50s. The earlier file was set by Julian Boros when he gained the 1968 PGA Championship. Boros, who gained three majors, was 48 years outdated on the time.
Mickelson is conversant in success within the majors as he has totaled six victories and has runner-up finishes in 4 of them. Lefty’s newest feat is the cherry on high of his Corridor of Fame profession.
However he hadn’t gained a serious since 2013 at Muirfield, and hadn’t gained a title of any type since 2019 at Pebble Seashore. Mickelson mirrored on his profession within the weeks main as much as the PGA Championship:
