Chic, richly textured clothes cloak artist Carlos Cabo’s spell binding ceramic figures (up to now), showcasing the never-ending probabilities of clay. Tall and slim, the figures game all kinds of types, donning button-down tunics, clothes, neck ties, and hats. Whilst every one is exclusive, they’re drawn in combination by way of a synchronic gesture: mouths open vast, they sing towards the sky.
Cabo gathers his subject matter from the nation-state round his house in Salinas, Spain, then works it into column-like figures and geometric paperwork. He considers the feel to be “the outside of the piece,” differentiating every from its partners whilst additionally emphasizing their similarities and a way of solidarity.
